Here in our village we have loads of butterflies. Just got back from a walk and seen speckled wood, ringlet, wood brown, small skipper, comma and da da a cabbage white. Heard crickets, chiff chaff, blackcap and buzzard. Saw brilliant blue damoiselles, Emperor butterflies and some honey bees. With the sun shining and a smiley dog I'm as happy as a pig in muck.

Saw another one Tues.

Could have been the same one circling your plot looking for an opportunity to strike  :(

Must have been one in my back garden at some point as I noticed the Tuscan kale plantlings had a little leaf damage and I found 4 small white eggs and 1 teeny weeny green caterpillar!

Needless to say - he won't be getting any bigger!

I haven't seen many either but I did put my fake butterfly in my sprouts so that may have kept them away

Still none here. Up until now, I have never, ever grown Summer cabbages to harvest with hardly a sign of the pests. I have now, and they are terrific. :)
If it carries on like this, even the brussels sprouts will be well beyond the stage where these pests can wreak their evil to any effective level. It's like a glimpse into a perfect parallel universe. Maybe the squirrels will recognise my hard work and  leave a note on my greenhouse, asking if they could put in an order and have a steal, after I've had my fill. Everyone happy, fed, and having a community snooze.

I've only seen a few here and they tended to be earlier in the season. My un-netted calabrese look terrific!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

They've found the winter cabbage seedlings in the garden, so I guess there will be loads soon ...........
