Bit of tilling then sowed 2 rows of parsnip and 2 rows of beetroot,watered gh'es and pt went home as it got really windy

doing the watering can shuffle- already!!  for the seedlings under fleece, and spring sown BBeans.  Realised the dunk tank fillers  are turned off until April

Finished weeding my new plot and building raised beds in readiness for the topsoil arriving tomorrow.

Got the keys to gate from the council went to my new plot had a good long look ,measured up and tidy up a  little ,put the shed up the right way.

Just got back from barrowing 3 tonnes of topsoil, ready for a bath.

asparagus planted in the nice bed i had waiting for them,
shallots,garlic and onions planted
ordered some more seeds as realised i dont have any parsnips or beets

Planted out my spuds as they all had really good chits on them and were beginning to turn to leaves... Put them in nice deep trenches covered over so should any frost appear they will be fine and I can still mound them up as necessary. Back aches a lot now though - I misjudged how many trenches I would have to dig! I still have 10 small spuds left over which I kept in the shed for now but we'll see. Not sure I can justify the expense of soil for bags just for a few tiny spuds that might not even amount to anything....

Sowed some parsnips, land cress, lettuce and coriander.  Tackled a particularly nettly bit of the hedge bank - ouch - and put the soil on the potato quarter.  Glared frequently at the rabbit which was sat on next door plot, filled in two rabbit burrows and considered my options...

Coughed loudly when I heard a family of plot holders going down the track the other side of my hedge, having a conversation that started "well they haven't cut it down, but..." and then went and had a chat with some new plot holders who asked me to lay theirs!

Tidied the shed out at home.Trundled down with my trusty wheel barrow & the prunings from the garden to add to the recently sorted compost bins. Then son turned up with all the shavings from his wood for his new table & chairs hubby & he are making. Popped that in its bags onto the compost heap, but on the way home told CD to help himself to it for his chickens. Thanked him for the cardboard he left for me.

Erected a 8 x 6 foot greenhouse so now I can get my seeds off to a good start.

Did some more tilling then planted a row of pink fir apples,2 rows of beetroot ,and some parsnip in loo rolls,filled 7 daleks with manure off the big pile i got ,looks a bit tidier now,spuds in gh are doing great and ones in pt are coming through

More fence post holes today, and will start laying and setting the slabs for the little patio area in front of the gh. Sowing seeds and potting on some seedlings in the gh as well, The sun is up, blue sky at the moment so will probably amble down shortly, best time of the day for mooching about on your lotty.

Chaired a meeting of the Allotment Association to discuss self management.  All bar one at the meeting voted for.  Then planted out my onion sets and OH did some soil sifting for raised bed on daughter's plot.

Dug beds for and planted 300 onion sets. Same to do again but they will have to wait until post-Mother's Day.
