Prepared potato bed ready for them to go in on Wednesday ....... But cold nights predicted??
Carrots, beetroot and broad bean plants in with a few more broad beans left to go in.
Finished new raspberry bed (at last) and dug up plants that had drifted out of the main rows. These will be used to fill new bed.
Watched the guys building a new floor for the tea hut seating area and they were doing a grand job. I just drunk coffee  :D
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

Put out a mouse trap amongst my peas in case it is a whiskered person attacking them.
Then became inspired by another plot holder burning rubbish he lent me a lighter and some kindling and I had a general tidy up of assorted cuttings etc. all very dry so burnt rapidly.
Then collected a couple of bags of seed compost ready for the serious seedling growing starting soon.
Tried to rest PM but mrs Hog suggested we tidy up the pots on the patio

Cheers HH
Keep digging

Popped down after work yesterday and today, planted and trenches all my earlies, just got 1 row left of mains to go in. Have some spare straw on my plot if things get cold. Feeling quiet on top of things for once.

Yahay finally planted something on the plot. Busy digging this morning & went back this afternoon & transplanted loads of the garlic. Still got 2 trays to go. Covered part of the last years leek bed with cardboard & manure so it all gets nicely wet when it rains tomorrow. The pumpkins will go there planted through membrane.

Went and affixed a new tap to my IBC, very noice. Just need to dig a hole under the base to allow a watering can to sit under said new tap.

Spent an hour on the plot checking seedlings and raked over the root bed,  made some cabbage collars out of small paper plates, Hubby's finished my new compost bin, we removed the other one has the plot owner next to me said it was to big, to be fair it was to big  so he has made me a smaller one and this time he got permission from the council  . ;)

Had a borrow of a friend's Mantis tiller.  Blimey! In my ignorance I thought that the machine was supposed to do the work!  ::) It was like trying to control a bucking bronco!  My arms and legs and neck are aching now.  :( I don't think I will bother getting one of my own, after all.  The old-fashioned way might be tedious, but doesn't cause as much physical fall-out!

Still we did get three beds looking lovely. :D

Planted onion sets,  and continued the base for the green house. Also recycled some big wooden crates to make two large cold frames.

popped in to tie down, check on everything and harvest some chard and some psb which is still doing great- I only had 4 plants of Rudolph but they've been enough and well worth the coddling through the butterfly period.

Despatched 4 large black slugs and about 10 small ones under a bit of cardboard I'd put down  :D

Just popped down for about half an hour lunchtime and tilled the area for this years potato crop, as rain is expected. It is now absolutely chucking it down as I am writing this, so hopefully will start planting my spuds towards the end of next week
who pinched me marrow?
