Mrs Growster said about a thousand times (she never exaggerates...), that we will NOT be growing asparagus, because she doesn't care for it very much, so I agreed that we wouldn't.

We went the whole of the last two years saying we wouldn't, until we just saw some crowns being chucked away for peanuts...

They're resting in the greenhouse as we speak...

We've got about 120 cucumber seeds drying out on some kitchen roll, Mums!

And Mrs G dried loads of flower seeds and some squash etc...

Then we lost them for a month! (Found 'em yesterday, in an old cash box under a raised fllor we use for foreign tinctures ferGod'sake)!

Don't tidy away those asparagus crowns now, will you? Just the right time to make a nice bed for them  :D

You might find home grown has a special je ne sais quoi about them that convinces Mrs Growster that it is worthy after all :nowink:

Then we lost them for a month!

I bought some fancy melon seeds to sow last year - I looked everywhere and couldn't find them.  I even convinced myself that I must have imagined buying them so this year bought another packet to sow in spring ... and then found last year's seeds as well  :nowink:

I love winter squash and although I've grown lots of different varieties, there's still many many more out there to try
