[Growster...]

Today (I'm on holiday), I spent four hours forking fresh horse stable manure into 21 bags, and carting them back in two trips of a half hour each, to the new 'Growster' insulated compost heap...

God I ache!

And it's only because we have a few tinctures laid by for holidays such as this, that I can raise the strength to write this feeble post...

But, the delicious aroma   and the incredible heat being generated - of the (nearly) quarter of a ton of the 'black gold in the making' just makes the whole day worthwhile!

Try having a flat-bed load delivered... then finding the missus strangely absent.

Then you'll know what it is to ache.

Mrs Growster has had one of her own busiest days today, and I escaped to bury the nose and the fork in the golden stuff...

My shirt and jeans are now safely bolted down inside a smell-free zone, and we're already wondering whether to risk a further nasal onslaught and go again on Thursday!

I don't know if you ever smoked, but I did - a pipe - and the aromas coming from the heap today nearly got me parking by my local Spar for a pack of Gold Block!

It really is incredibly heady, and the heat is astounding - I nearly cannot keep a hand on the heap at the moment!
