fussy rat
« on: May 26, 2009, 07:56 »
now we know what's running round in the garden we have put eradibait down and tried chocolate but he's not interested. We pick up food and empty water out and even stopped putting stuff on the bird feeder as that seems to be what was attracting him what else can we do? desperate in derby ???

Have you thought about using a humane trap? Set in one of his runways?

I find the humane traps and Jack Russells work best, I have moved recently and the rats haven't discovered us YET!!! but I am sure it won't take them long.

Patience is required!  Rats are wary about touching a new food.  Put down plenty of Eradibate in secluded places and wait.  Eventually he will take it, die and you won't know where the corpse is until it smells.  Then you will not be able to reach it without dismantling something that does not otherwise need dismantling.

Rats!  grrrr

Where are you putting the bait? Is it covered?  Please read the following link.

I made a couple of wooden "runs" and it realy worked for me.

eradibait takes longer to have an effect as it is not a poison and should be the main source of food.  If there are other food sources available else where, e.g. in the next doors garden it may not work.

Saw rat trying to get my hens food today in broad daylight  >:( and last night they had been trying to dig their way into the babies run  so today its drainpipes and and rat poison blocks down. 1st time I've seen them for months so had not bothered to put any down for a while.
Staffies are softer than you think.
