Query about strawberries grown in soil
« on: May 23, 2009, 09:48 »
Hi

I have got some strawbs in containers but have been given some and  I have put them in the ground.

Instead of using straw can I use material I have shredded from the garden?

It`ll be ok as long as the material is non toxic / poisonous after all it is just to keep the fruit off the ground and clean. I think twiggy would be preferable to shredded.
