Anyone from the Stamford, lincs area?
« on: May 14, 2008, 20:55 »
I have a large allotment plot in Stamford, I am only using half the plot and want to know if anyone is interested in having the other half?
I will pay all costs as I want to keep it under my name.
Please contact me for more info asap as its getting rather overgrown and I want someone else to have some growing space. I would prefer a non Stamford allotment holder as I want someone who is waiting for a plot. May even share my large greenhouse to the right person.

Hi Tugster,

Kind offer.

I take it you mean a Stamford non-allotment holder as opposed to a non Stamford allotment holder!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks for pointing that out DD... I knew what I meant!!!
It was code that only a Stamfordian would understand. Afterall cannot have any Tom, Dick or Henry at my allotment upsetting the other holders!!!

Who would of though it would be so hard to get someone on the most popular allotment in Stamford. I have spoke to the council, who said they would "send out a few letters" to the people on the waiting list. Trouble is that by the time they pull there finger out, there will be a new estate built on the allotments. Things run rather slow out here...apart from the allotment bills. They always delivered on time!!!!!

I'll be in Stamford in Saturday because my Mum lives there. I'll ask her if she knows anyone who would be interested, all of her husbands family live round there so there might be one of them interested. Do you think I could use the word interested one more time

Quick update on the allotment situation. Had a phone call yesterday from the council, saying they had a young girl who lives in a flat above a pub with no garden and was looking for a small plot to grow on. I met her last night at the allotment and agreed to let her have the plot. She was the nicest girl I have ever met, full of plans for this little plot. Lets hope she is as enthusiastic as she sounded.
