Cut back a load of brambles and put them in a big black bin to dry out ready for burning.  Covered a bed with tarp, dropped off three pallets and a water butt.  Busy the next two weeekends, bit inconvenient.
first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is

Went up to the plot yesterday but the Northerly wind was biting, so I managed to dig over a 2 ft x 10 ft strip of plot, then gave up.  Hubby did better - he built a raised bed edge for a bed on plot 39 with the help of his Dad.

We went home, built a big fire and had a lovely roast dinner with our Mums!

I need to try to get up to the plot tomorrow to rescue some stuff from the shed that I am concerned about with the cold (no mean feat - it has been snowing constantly since 5am this morning!)

Put some peelings in the dalek and checked on snow covered coldframe
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Went down this morning - we are snow free but it has been v. cold overnight. Had planned to put onion sets in but soil frozen in places. So covered the area with fleece tunnels - 5.99 from Aldi :) - and will plant them in a few days. Weighed down the plastic greenhouse which keeps threatening to take flying lessons and came home to thaw out. lovely sunshine but a very lazy wind! (goes through you not round).

surrounded by snow, but none here, so when the sun came out I trekked down the plot, dug another foot or so across the width and planted another row of potatoes.

I planted my garlic, I hope it's not too late, I have had them sat in the open window of our downstairs loo for two weeks to acclimatise.

Took some more broad beans from the greenhouse at home to the cold frame on the plot.  Maybe if the weather would just ease up a bit I might get them out into the ground under a cloche.

Braved the cold for a walk up to the plot to drop the new chicken rota for April off and check on lottie cat Tabitha (as she wasn't there sunday evening (and she's a fragile little old lady ) and found my netting had blown down over the onions and the fleece had blown down over the broad beans!

Rescued and fixed said net and fleece and dropped off a load of composting scraps.
Cat is fine!

Called in at the plot after work for an hour and a half.  No snow here yet but bitterly cold, did a bit more digging and raked down the seed bed, and it's coming down to a fine crumb now, bit of a tidy up and then home for a warm up   :)

Popped in after work.

Too wet to dig due to the snow having melted, so had a good check round and planned in my head what I'm going to be doing over the next month or so.
