Quick visit to my plot this morning, just to check on things ,not able to plant anything over the easter weekend unfortunately, On Duty till next week , I really need to plant my potatoes and cabbages, and give my shed a second  coat of paint . But can't  grumble at least the weather appears to be  improving. :D

a couple of hours  this morning, did a second pass of the plot with the rotovator, planted 2 rows of potatoes, and 4 half rows of onions.

It's turned very chilly here again today , so only a couple of hours for us. Emptied and then moved the old "muck" heap on the new 1/2 of the plot, then put some slabs down as a water butt will be going in that spot.

"potted" some strawberries into plastic cups, can't put them out on the plot yet as the strawberry bed needs a good dose of nematodes as seem to have been invaded by vine weevils  :(

Transplanted excess soil from front garden (excavating for a driveway) to raised bed in the back garden.

Prepared the ground in my raised beds with BFB and then planted red and white onion sets. I have covered them in fleece/poly tunnels (in the event there is frost).

Well maybe not today, but over the last three days I have moved tonnes of soil and replaced a falling down dry brick wall with a new timber wall. I was dismayed to find a second wall behind the first, all covered by feet if soil.

The wall is made up of 10cmx10cmx2.7m posts.

I certainly ache now.

Updated: I think my photo is upside down! Sorry.
.    I am looking at this photo on my iPad. I keep turning the iPad around to look at the photo the right way up but the picture rotates as well !

Finally took the plunge and put my onion sets in - under cover for the chilly nights as much as the pigeons!

I did some weeding, fed the chickens and moaned with other plot holders about how we can't plant stuff yet due to the temperatures and O.H. got the tree stakes in to create our pea and bean frames.

Spent a happy 3 hours outside weeding the old fennel bed in the sunshine and thinking where to put things when it finally gets warmer.

Took my baby onions to the cold frame on the plot, took some pics for my diary and came home, it was so cold!
