Finally had chance to plant spuds & dig in all the manure, plus chanced pruning the pear tree.
More seeds started off indoors.
Now sat with pint of cider playing on here :-)

Put gutter on shed ready to catch the water before the REALLY hot summer.

Cover the spud patch to be with teram to warm it up a bit.

Continued to dig the bottom half.

Me too got a can of strongbow having a read :-)

Collected wood chip from local park which is free and took to the plot for pathways and back of the plot behind the shed,  connected two freecycled water butts to the existing butt and started digging,  half heartedly dug for an hour and gave up - just not in the mood for digging today!

Dug a foot deep trench along the raspberry bed, lifted some flags from elsewhere in the garden and installed them vertically and then back filled the trench. That should keep them from escaping. I cleared out the cat loo strawberry bed, not sure if I should just bin the lot and use the space for something else.

The veg patch is in a right state - It looks like a bombs gone off in it  :(

Thinned out my onion  and leek seedlings at home, done a compost run and gave my carrot bed another dig.

Planted a dozen more broad bean plants and a couple of dozen of mangetout plants, all under homemade cloches. Found some of last years garlic behind the shed (!) - it had all sprouted and seemed fine so thought I ought to plant it  :) Started off some 'magic juice' - comfrey leaves and guinea pig poo topped up with water. Sowed some carrot seeds in the greenhouse. Lovely couple of hours in the sunshine today  :)

Potted on my tomatos then took them down to the Alottment, also got a piece of carpet of my daughter so now the compost bin is covered and ready for heating up. Planted a few trays of flowers ready for the bees. Got parsley and marjoram in and transplanted some beetroot under cover. will have to try and find out where the pesky rabbit is getting in as its had a go at my garlic, recovered them for now so they can grow on a bit saver.
not a bad day though 8)

Glorious day in Cardiff today! Certainly the 'hottest' day for March. Spent 4 hours preparing two raised beds for an assortment of beans, namely runner, Italian yard-long, and borlotti which I bought from Premier Seeds. Planted strawberries and globe artichoke given by my neighbours. Gave my asparagus crowns which I planted two weeks ago a good watering. Took the fleece off to have a peek, and I was like 'wow'! They have come alive! LOL! The soil is certainly 'warming up' as the lettuce and radishes which I planted two weeks ago in the poly also greeted me with young shoots! Sooooooo pleased!

Well maybe not today, but over the last three days I have moved tonnes of soil and replaced a falling down dry brick wall with a new timber wall. I was dismayed to find a second wall behind the first, all covered by feet if soil.

The wall is made up of 10cmx10cmx2.7m posts.

I certainly ache now.

Updated: I think my photo is upside down! Sorry.
