Started to repair the damage the snow and wind has done. But still windy so nothing tall put up. Shook snow off cloches and looked for the fleece that has vanished - can't find it anywhere!

took the rotovator with other carburettor fitted to the plot, got it started and running nicely, stopped for a break, then on restarting pulled the starter cord off, when it stalled a few minutes later I had to give up, I had finished the first pass on the whole plot, and had done a few rows of second pass, so I was happy with progress, came home fixed the starter cord, and found that it had stalled because the fuel tank was empty. :-o

Took apart another pallet.
Burnt some rubbish in the incinerator.
Sowed some self saved flower seeds from one of my friendly plot neighbours. Not sure what they are, but if and when they flower will try to find out!!

Went and looked at the plot and noticed that it holds water not puddles but with another wet summer it may cause problems which gave me food for thought.

Cleared the snow off my strawberry plants that are waiting to go in and refilled the rat bait box.

Put up my new table and chairs in the shed.

Still got some lying snow and there is more falling from the sky. Never mind warm I'd settle for no snow!
Then I read this "The Met Office predicts temperatures are unlikely to recover to nearer normal values until the latter part of April." - depressing!!!!

Not at the plots today, but I've moved 6 wheelbarrow loads of topsoil from the back garden to the front to replenish the soil that had been washed away over the winter months.  Borders are now looking better. OH scarifying the lawn at present.

then sunday afternoon a pal of mine who has just got a plot on the same site ask for  a hand with a second hand greenhouse he just bought so we went and took the glass out and dropped that off at the plot, then monday tea time picked the frame up on the van and dropped that off, so really not alot on ours

Checked on my plot this morning ,would have liked to given the shed a second coat of paint but it's to damp. Garlic looks ok. Checked on a friends plot. Had a chat with the allotment warden, went home and potted up my cabbages.  :)

A tree at the end of our street was being chopped down.

Asked the tree surgeons  what they were going to do with the chipped wood ,told them I grew my own fruit

and veg .They said I could have some and  dropped round a lorry load of woodchips to the plot and spent the

  afternoon filling the paths .

Only used 1/2 of it will have to put the rest to one side

quick trip to my other half plot, took an hour to do the first rotovator pass of the season, starting to feel I will be ready when the weather warms up now to start planting.
