I know an awful lot of people that need locking up then. Out of interest are there any other animals this applies to, or only chickens

Pigs, cows, sheep, goats I think. Anything that can be eaten by humans.

yes pigs are another animal that come under strict feeding rules (and probably all other livestock).
If you wish to feed your birds scraps then that is up to you but do not mention it on this forum otherwise we will have to start removing such posts - we have to abide by the law.
