Can't decide:  Runner beans? Cabbage? or Courgette? (also doubles as marrow), think I'll go for.....................Runner beans, no cabbage............Runner beans.   :D
...............happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.................

Just pulled a handful of new spuds, red duke of york from a tub  -- I'm changing my choice from leeks to SPUDS  - if thats allowed -  for the moment anyway.  I think my choice will be changing every time I harvest the first of any new crop I grow ;)

For a change of scene... Turnips!, picked at golf-ball size they are lovely quartered, blanched then finished in the frying pan used to cook a steak. Compared with the tough old balls you get from the shops...

Beans - big family so I'm not saying which one but all are expensive on the shop shelf.

And you can save seeds for next year. Cost effective.

I just wrote a post about jerusalem artichokes and was reminded how fantastic they are with cream in a gratin.  So I'm afraid today my favourite is jerusalem artichoke.
