Am I the only cabbage fan?  If I were given a choice, fillet steak or fresh garden cabbage I would have to choose cabbage!

For me it's got to be between runner beans for the sheer quantity and quality compared with the stringy and expensive shop-bought version, and sweet corn for being just so much better freshly picked than any version of it you can buy in the shops.........

If it has to be one choice it must be sweet corn because much as I like them beans just don't have the "ooh, ahhhh, ohhhh!" factor when me and my (specially chosen?) friends enjoy those succulent, juicy, sweet cobs.  8)  :happy:  :happy:

I'll cheat and say the various types of onion (onion, shallots, spring). It's the one foodstuff I consistantly use in cooking or in salads.

First early spuds - Lady Christl. Just started lifting them and they are absolutely delicious hot or cold :)

such a difficult question, for me it would be cherry , tomatoes, but it would have to be with basil, as it is a herb thats only one vegetable :D
the hours i could spend in the greenhouse with a tomato plant, a pot of basil a sharp knife and some S and P
