Courgette!

And I only need 1 plant!

I picked ,4 tonight, got more to pick in the next few days.

If I could grow runner beans here they might possibly take over from cabbage, but as we can't grow them here cabbage is no.1

Runner beans...

They're not my favourite but it doesn't feel like a proper season if there are none in the garden. I'll always grow them even if I don't pick and eat them  :D

LEEKS  -  leek n potato soup, cheese n leek pie, leeks n mash ,roasted leeks, leeks n ham with cheese, leeks in lamb stew, beef stew, chicken casserole - oh and my favourite, leek and potato soup

Oh  -  and they are there, waiting for picking in the depths of winter.

It would have to be runner beans.  Totally gorgeous.  Also I get the satisfaction of walking post the really horrible monsters all bruised and stringy that they sell in the supermarkets and being really smug.  Mind you that goes for most things.

By the way I was dead jealous when I saw that Oliveview was harvesting courgettes already as mine are only an inch or two long at the moment.  Thought I must be doing something wrong.  Then realised I would need to move to get courgettes that early!! :D

Now there's a thought.  No more nail biting on "will we get a frost tonight?".  Probably swapped for "they've all been burnt to a crisp" a bit latter on.  Not a problem I am likely to get over here :D

We should have a poll for top veg.
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
