Ive never grown leeks before, but I bought a packet of seeds and put them in some compost in the greenhouse in April, th stems are two inches long and looke very much like spring onions.... the question is.... what do I do with them now! I havent a clue how to grow them except that need need lime enriched soil.

any advice.

thanks I actually feel confident to plant out my leeks. My leeks are still in seedling stage so I think I will pot them on as they have been in the seed compost since the first week in April.

Ive already prepared the leek bed.... I wonder how long John had them in that flower container for before planting out?

It takes about 12 to 15 weeks to get leeks to pencil thickness. I leave them in a large pot and then start giving them a weekly liquid feed from 10 weeks onwards, sooner if they start to lighten up or go yellow.

Hi there, Ive transplanted them out of the seed tray and into deeper pots now as theya re starting to slightly paler, I take it I will leave them for a few more weeks yet before putting them into the garden.
