So I have some loganberry and tayberry plants I bought a few years ago, and I forgot to label them when they went in. The fruits look identicle, but one has an upright habit like a rasberry and one has a tangled trailing habit like a blackberry. Which is which?

My Tayberries are thorny, a lot like a bramble whereas the Loganberries are smooth and look more like a raspberry cane.  Which is interesting as both varieties are  blackberry x raspberry hybrids

My Loganberry has vicious little thorns, and is blakcberry like.

There are two types of Tayberry, a thorny one and a thorn less sport.
The best way to tell the tayberry and the loganberry apart is to taste them when the fruit is truly ripe. A tayberry is much sweeter and mellower, a deeper purple colour and altogether a better fruit.

our loganberry is thornless. Agree it's not as sweet but it's prolific!
