Compost Queen, where are you for Leeks to be OK?  I haven't been to lottie since the big freeze and assumed they would be gonners.   :)
Mine are fine too (although we, here in East Anglia, may not have been as cold as your inland location - minimum inside the greenhouse has been -6C though)

My Leeks, Parsnips and Sprouts have been fine - even the Celeriac (which I have since read I was supposed to harvest and store) is fine.

Not wishing to take this too far off topic, my parsnips came out of the ground fine for Christmas, leeks have been picked and used since then and I'm glad to hear your celeriac is fine Kristen as I was worried mine may not be!

As you New Shoot, necessary seeds and seed potatoes are ordered, sowing dates noted but actual planting location plan still not finalised.

:)

And today in the post arrives a Thompson & Morgan catalogue full of gorgeous things and accompanied by a £10.00 voucher. Must resist!

All the seeds are bought except the Seed Potatoes. The New fruit trees are in and both plots have been winter dug and manure added where the spuds are going.
The greenhouse is due a good clean out in late winter.
I'm chomping at the bit to get growing!

Well that's true. And what I have already got on its way from Garden Organic is mostly veg and hardly any flowers.....

How come you got a £10 voucher and I only got a fiver?

Spent it already on seeds I didn't really need.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I wonder why the catalogues come out at such different times. We ordered our seeds weeks ago having sat on the catalogue for probably a couple of months before doing anything with it. Perhaps I got a bigger voucher as I'm good at ignoring their emails..

Re planning for next year, been to Wyvale today. Mrs Digger insisted on buying something call flower seeds at half price.

I had a £20 give voucher for Christmas, so I treated myself to a wicked looking 3 edged hoe. Can't wait to hear those weeds scream.

Oh - and a bucket of chicken manure pellets at half price.

Not too badly. I grow a club root resistant variety of cauli (Clapton), the brassicas in the main are in a bit that's not too badly infected and they went in with a good root system.

I'm going to try something else next year - if you get my drift - as I may have to use an area I know to be quite badly infected.
