Rust on Leeks
« on: July 08, 2010, 07:29 »
Hi all,
went to our lottie yesterday have have noticed what looks like a copper colour mildew on outer leaves of my young leaks.
Almost half are covered ,I've  got them growing next to my brassica's is there anything I can do to save them or should I remove the leeks altogether.
Thanks
Sid.

If you do a forum search on leek rust, you'll find this has cropped, (sorry), up several times. Opinions vary.

The RHS do not mention destroying the crop, but to dispose of plant debris. There is no treatment available to the amateur gardener according to them.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
