I'd keep them inside in the warm overnight, if it was me........as frost is forecast for tonight and tomorrow :(

Too many shocks I think - first being transplanted and then stuck outside in these cool temps, keep them in for a bit as MOS said.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Mine were sulking in the greenhouse 'til Mum gave me the headsup -- all cosy in the kitchen and growing away again  :D :D

I've had mine indoors all the way through - and unless the weather improves significantly I think they might stay there!   :D

I sowed 2 batches of 25 and got one plant. Then came the abuse to the solitary baby. she has been out in the open for the past month with other kids and only a frost forecast brings her in.
They are one difficult plant to grow in my very short experience.
One kid is handful. Two kids.... Example for chaos theory. Hats off to my mum who managed three...

I was intending to put my Aubergines in the garden, but it's been so cold I've kept them indoors, and they've started flowering. I'm going to have to get a paintbrush out and "be the bee" for them tonight, I think...

It looks like its the older leaves that have dropped i have removed them and the newer leaves are looking good and there are shoots. I think im going to have to be the bee for the cumbers as they have flowers on  :D

They are easy.......but only if you can keep them warm  ::)

it is true. but what if they dont even want to germinate or poke through. lose their will to live. the second batch i sowed were chitted ones and carefully put in modules and they returned me the modules in total honesty with compots.  :)

I still think it is all to do with heat.
I start mine in a heated propagator, in moist (not wet) compost.......they seem to germinate easily. And as long as you can keep them warm (mine are still on a windowledge indoors) they seem to grow easily.
The big problem, is getting a warm enough summer for them to fruit  ::)

So I'm sorry if you have problems with them and don't know what to suggest.........apart from keep them warm   ::)
What variety do you grow, Prakash?  I've had success with moneymaker, one of Alan Titchmarsh's recommended varieties

I think it is black beauty (is there a variety like that?). Agree with your process of growing but i dont have green fingers for them (as well as for the salad leaves). anyways I've put it down to my incompetence and rubbish seeds. Going to try one of those fancy stripy ones next year from a good seed supplier.
