Growing chick peas
« on: May 10, 2010, 12:05 »
Last week a lady at the lottie gave me a handful of soaked chick peas to plant (I assume they were normal ones from the deli- her English isn't good enough to find details). I forgot about them and yesterday found they had all chitted and had 1" roots. I have put them in modules. Anyone know what now to grow them now? I have no idea of their size, whether they need support, how sensitive to cold they are, when they can be harvested etc.

There seem to be a few articles, and i like the idea of eating them green. Just wondered if anyone had direct experience.
