To counterbalance all the negatives, I've had very good service from T&Ms for the past couple of years. Admitedly I did order slightly ealier (new years eve) than you all, took less than a week for delivery. Last year the same, seeds within a week, onion sets when advised (early Jan).

Seeds ordered at end of last year (being efficient etc) dated 2010. Seeds ordered (not arrived) will presumably be dated 2011?

Had me scrabbling to look there - Some are dated packed for year ending 2010, some 2011. Had no problems with germination last year (ie growing season 2009), even the parsnips and carrots were fine although I no longer have the packets to see the date on those. I'll have to wait and see on germination this year I suppose although I'm not unduely worried...

T & M seed came today - 16 days which, although not long, is longer than all the others I ordered from who only took a few days.

Got mine today too, having planted old seed today (how annoying but maybe it will be ok).... all dated 2011 except the squash 2010. Bit naughty really.

Hmmm .. hadn't thought to check the Packaged Date ... all my order was flower seeds, and none of the packets have a Year on them.  The Lot Number has "/9" on some, "/10" on others (2009 / 2010 ??), but on others no slash-anything ...

I suppose packing date is as it says - When they were packed.

We should be quite impressed with my 2011 packed seeds, unless T&M work everyday of the year they took my order, packaged some they arrived within 6 days over the new year!

I'm not defending them from everyone elses experience, I've just had good service on the seed front for the last couple of years.

By the by, regularily order flowers from "Rainbow Flowers", always been good service and arrived on time, recently taken over by T&M, arrived late for this Valentines day

I got a 10% introductory Rainbow Flowers voucher with my T&M seeds (and lots of other fire-lighter-fodder). Have now retrieved the Rainbow Flowers one from the bin!

I rang yesterday to see where my onion sets were.

Was told my order had been passed to the supplier and would be delivered within ten days.I asked "within ten days of when?" The answer was "of today". So I guess the delivery date is determined by the date you complain.

I asked to cancel the order as delivery was too long and unpredictable and was told they could not cancel the order as it had gone to the supplier. I told them I would send them back and was told to just refuse the delivery. She didn't really seem to care.

I don't think I'll bother with them next year.

What happened to the old-fashioned virtues such as pride in your work, conscientiousness and the importance of customer satisfaction...? The last time I got anything from them were some Buzy Lizzies and they were nearly all dead and no, I didn't leave them after receipt.  Go for Gardening Direct or Jersey Plants - you'll see the difference in spades.

I can honestly say I will never buy from T&M again, they rarely deliver on time and it is just too much agro. better off just getting seeds off ebay

i love to go the garden centres and browse through all the racks and choose my seeds that way , no waiting , no postage , and no messing about

I have put an order in with them today for some spuds just to see how long it takes for them to send them to me.
I hope they will be in time to plant this year
