Sadly, quite a few of our members have gone through that in past seasons, some even deeper than yours. But eventually the water dries up and you can plant again. If this is a regular problem, then raised or mounded beds might be a better solution for you.

? Is that a B&Q trolley on your lotty (last photo)? it looks just like the one I have used at said store whilst buying some plasterboard.
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

Is it just your plot or are others the same?

Can you see if the water is running from somewhere, or is it just from too much rain?

To answer your questions

Yes it's a B&Q trolley. Handy for putting things on and wheeling about ! Idea Allotment workmate.

Yes my neighbours suffer the same problems ! We're in a dip at the bottom of a hill and behind us is a railway line.

Raised beds is the idea I want to use, but with money very tight at the moment am looking just to build up my plot with offers of free topsoil, used compost, grow bags and manure.

Yes I've seen other post here, would be great to have the perfect plot !!!! ::) But then thats too easy !

You could make a few lazy beds.....raised beds without the wood, at least that way you could have a place for your winter veg that wouldn't get drowned each winter. :)

You might drown picking them but the beds would be drier

Most of my beds are mounded beds, ones without wood sides. I plan out the bed spacings and heap the pathway soil between into the bed areas onto the beds, level the top a bit and gently press in the sides at an angle to hold the shape. There's virtually no collapsing and it took only a bit of extra work rather than money.
