hi, i need some advice my male muscovy starting to mate with one of the females yesterday, he seems really rough and i am worried that she is going to get hurt. Is this normal.

I know very little about muscovies but if they are anything like mallard i would say very rough treatment is normal . You often see a mallard duck flying around with 4 or 5 drakes after her. The female can suffer if she cannot get away for a bit of peace and quiet.

They are incedibly rough.....take it from me when one of my males tried to mount me!!!!!!

thnks at least i guess it is normal, it looked like he was trying to drown her earlier, but see doesnt seem to worse for wear. he isnt interested in the other duck, but then she is bottom of the pecking order so not sure if that makes a difference.i didnt expect them to start mating till spring, does this mean she is going to start laying.
