I've been trying to get some topsoil for ages and a couple of weeks ago was tipped off that the leek beds of a local top class leek grower who had passed away in January were being dismantled. Yay, I now have raised beds.
If anyone has idea on the best veg to put in hanging baskets, I'm open to ideas. I usually have flowers but you can't eat most of those.

My greenhouse is coming along nicely too

You lucky thing!!! Not sure about growing veggies in baskets but you could grow lots of different herbs in them :)

Tumbling toms do well in baskets.  Great pictures.
Sally (N.Ireland) Organic as far as I know!

Plant plenty.  Celebrate success.  (Let selective memory deal with the rest.)

Yes, I though about herbs but wasn't sure which were the best ones to hang . I've been looking at what grows well in partial shade too and herbs are good for that too apparently so I'll probably have herbs coming out of my ears   How large is the tumbling tom? I make a fantastic tomato soup which taste better with the medium size toms, but prefer cherrys to eat.

You can plant two in a basket with marigolds inthe top.The plants will hang down 2-3ft and you will need to feed(when the first truss begins to form) and water well.

I would go for strawberries, (well actually I have lol) I have several hanging baskets around my allotment and garden at home and I get lots of fruit year after year from the same old little plant, it's great. I use a liquid fertiliser that I make myself, once every week or two, along with plain water when they are looking dry. The fertiliser is also very very good for your tomatoe plants...  If anyone would like to know how to make their own very potent liquid feed thats has to be diluted, I'll be more than happy to help.

I make my liquid fertilizer from my comfrey Mark, but thanks for the offer.  Also must try nettles.  Never done that one yet
