Brassica Problems
« on: May 19, 2009, 12:56 »
Hi All

Hoping someone can help me with a brassica problem i have had for the past two years.

My seeds all germinate nicely and just as the first set of proper leaves start to appear the whole thing starts to die. Looking like the edges of the leaves are getting burnt away, then they just give up and die! Very frustrating as in my first year they were awesome, just having no luck now!

Thanks for any help
Digi

Where are they when this happens?  (e.g. outside in the ground, propagator on a windowsill etc.)

Almost as soon as they show they really should be outside, Brassicas do not like heat, they much prefer cold.

At this time of year they will sprout outdoors anyway so almost no need to use the greenhouse.

Cheers Bob

I believe the first year when i grew them i was a little earlier than this year and grew then in the greenhouse! I shall move them outside and see what happens!

Thanks for the help!
