Brassica problems
« on: June 14, 2012, 08:44 »
My cauliflowers and cabbages were doing really well until last week when the leaves on the caulis started to turn yellow and wilt.  A couple of them look as if they've had it.  We have not had a lot of rain up here on the west coast of Scotland, but it has not been overly dry either.  I can only assume the worst (club root), but would welcome other suggestions if there are any.  The bed they are growing in is new - there was nothing there last year - so I can't imagine there would be anything hanging about in the soil.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

It may be cabbage root fly, rather than clubroot, have a look at the roots of one and see.
