They are one and the same, however they can only be called Jersey Royals when they are grown on the southerly slopes on the island of Jersey.

Spuds flavour IMHO will differ slightly depending on local weather conditions and also your soil type.

I am growing some in bags in my greenhouse (should be ready this week) and some on my plot. I am expecting them to taste different, but still far better than ones that have spent time in transit and storage before being put on sale in the shops.
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.

These spuds "cropped" up last year. Most folk, including myself, being very disappointed with them.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I'm trying them this year - have some in the greenhouse in pots of compost, some in the garden border, and some on the allotment, with heavy clay soil.  I love jersey royals, so am hoping that one of the sites I've tried will produce a similar taste.  They're not read yet tho, as I didn't want to put them in too early.  :)
