I have five dogs that i let into my garden when the chickens have gone into there run,the trouble is they all go around the garden eating the chicken poo it isnt making them ill or anything but i was still wondering whether it was bad for them.Does anyone else have this problem with there dogs

Mine does, mind you it's not as bad as when I found him drinking the water that collects under the loo brush! And he is a very licky dog....!

Thank goodness for that I thought I was the only one whos dog had that habit!!!   You are right it saves me sliding over it but sooooooo disgusting.  Mind hes a big dog so I prusume its a snack for him

My vet says even her dogs do it and there is no cause for concern. Just don't watch!

Ours has developed a taste for duck poo. Loves it.

Ours came to give me a big kiss the other day but his breath smelt so strongly of chook poo I was forewarned and didn't let him

well it aint as bad as this , i used to fish alot years ago with my ex an when i took my jack russell with us he always managed to find human poo { digusting humans an kids alike } and roll in it  think i would perfer mine to eat chicken poo but i dont let mine dogs near the girls .

Dogs are loverly but so disgusting! my cat threw up on the door mat so i grabbed her and ran to back door to chuck her out and came back to find the mess gone and the dog sitting licking her lips  :blink:

Cats are no better than dogs. One of mine eats chook poo, they all try to eat the chook and rabbit food, and if one is sick another is guaranteed to have cleaned it up before I can even get a towel to clean it up!

I have labradors and they are both copraphagic (poo eaters) will eat it from any species despite trying to train them when they were pups (by putting really really hot chilli sauce on it and them letting them eat it!) does no harm - but they were really ill everywhere when they got hold of the layers pellets and scoffed the lot!

my friends lab was very ill when he ate rabbit poo.  unfortunately he was ill all over a posh hotel!
