One of our chickens had a peck at the poo of another chicken this morning. She had more than one peck, which suggested that she was eating it. She has done this before but not very often thankfully. She's the only one that does it as far as I can see.
Should I be worried?
Does this mean that she is lacking in some nutrients in her diet?
This is a brilliant site and I'm sure someone has the answer out there in chickenland.

Firstly what do you feed your chickens and how often?

They have layers pellets out at all times and never seem to finish them.
Around 5ish they have mixed corn.
They also have treats around that time e.g. cucumber, cabbage.
They also free range in the garden all day.
As I have been typing this reply, it dawned on me that she is broody and at the bottom of the pecking order. She may have been broody when I saw her doing it a few months ago.
Could this mean that she is hungry?
