It's a good reminder to protect any salads, but you might just want to keep an eye out for grey mould, which can happen if there's condensation and not much air circulating in those bottles, with the leaves in contact with the bottle sides.

Perhaps worth an experiment also with a different type of cloche or protection?

no problems last year Yorkie,but i wouldn't say it could not happen

Hah, lettuce. With chickens who have figured out how to get over a fence? Not on your life. This is a good idea though.
