hello, does anyone know of any good sources of manure in the west midlands area?  even better if they would be prepared to deliver?

Does anyone else on your site have manure delivered. I would start there. Failing that, have a look in your local phone book for riding stables and give them a try, or local butchers may have a local supplier of meat that could supply you with some manure? :)    Good luck anyway.

Theres a stables not far from me that has a huge pile of well rotted maure, they don't deliver though.  They charge 40p a bag, you have to take your own bags & you have to fill them yourself - I keep a few large old compost bags which I take with me when I go, get more for your money  :D

It's about 2 or 3 miles from the NEC, if thats any good let me know and I'll dig out the details.

that sounds good.  i've got one alternative plan on the go, but it would be good to have their details as i've not been able to find anywhere locally so far that would be able to do it at such a good price.  i had a call yesterday from a woman who delivered locally who wanted £320 for 80 bags, not exactly what i would call a bargain

That's shocking

We get a trailer load delivered for £15.00..!!!

The lady who organises ours is away at the moment so I'm going to round the local stables and farms and just ask.

that would be great if you could give me the details.  however you said he delivers fresh cow muck, is it not rotted down at all then?  i'm don't have an allotment, I grow in my rear garden so don't have room to store a lot if it needs to be left to rot

There is a place in Romsley where there is so much free horse manure that they can't get rid of it quickly enough.

I found their number using the preloved advertising site.

Just search for manure and look at the gardening adverts.

I can send you their phone no if you can't find it.

Welcome Jay.  :) This thread is three years old, so the information might not be available or relevant any more. Why don't you pop into the welcome board and introduce yourself?

try this one

http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.showroute/index-1034362223/77de94ef.html

and search for manure

I can't find the original advert and no longer have the phone number. They might not be there now. They used to keep a lot of horses.

Also Warren Hall farm, 218 Oakham road B69 1PY, if they are still there.
