I should think that *taste* is an optional extra with it!

More like *feels*
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

.............and then there's the potential problem of the secondary "afterburn" at some unspecified time later!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Extract from the article in DD's link above:

Earlier this week Nick Martin decided to try one of his Infinity Chillies.

"I actually ate one yesterday. It was one I'd had frozen from last year - so I thought it wouldn't be as hot as if it was fresh - and I thought I'd try it.

"It was all a bit worrying. The burn on my tongue lasted half an hour and the effects went on and on. At one point I was doubled over in pain and thinking about ringing the hospital.

"The worst was over by 11 o'clock, but it wasn't funny."

Its a seasoning, you wouldn't eat a plate of black pepper corns either but there are always some extremist. People like Nick have built up immunity to the compound that makes you feel the heat.

I use powdered Dorset Naga a lot, it gives good heat without the need to add LOTS of other powder which might make a dish taste grainy, when you get past the heat it also a fruit flora taste.

I wouldn't put them on top of a pizza though !  ::)

Either way you're likely to experience problems with Uranus.

Well if you really like hot chilli like me then you really must try Dave's Ultimate Insanity Sauce.  Just a single drop is enough for a curry and remember to keep the toilet roll in the freezer for the afterburn.

It is amazing how you can get used to it after a while though. If you find you reallly can't take it drink milk though not water as milk will emulsify the chilli whereas the chilli isn't disolved by water.  You have been warned!

I thought that there just had to be some suitable lyrics for this Nick Martin guys situation from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers themselves.

You can learn sooo much through this site,

what have I learned you might ask

That not only do I not like chilli peppers on my food, I dont much like Red Hot Chilli Peppers lyrics either  :D
There wasn't anything I found that I would dare post on here !!! :D
Unless otherwise stated it can be assumed ALL posts are by Pa Snip

Hi

I went to Lakes and we went to the market we looked at Chilli Jam and I had a taste it was really nice my husband tasted a few other things but, we walked away though so we could see what else there was before buying.  After we had looked around my husband said he was going to go and buy it.  We went back to the caravan we had rented and he got the barbeque going, he passed me a sausage in a bun and I thought yum I will put some of that chilli jam on it, didnt look just did it.  He didnt buy the chilli Jam he bought one of the chilli pastes, Naga chilli paste 7 chilli strength I nearly hit the roof I had spread it lovely and thickly all over my sausage.   I was breathing fire for about 5 hours.  But I did buy the chilli Jam from Mr Vikkis and I can recommend it, he does have a web site if anyone wants it, search Chilli Jam and Mr vikki.

Funny afterwards   B
