Hi all

Returned from hols yesterday and phoned my local supplier to arrange collection of our 1st girls. Unfortunatley, demand has been very high so I cant get what I wanted originally, so will be getting 2 ISA Browns & 2 Speckledys...Cant wait to get them home, just some minor alterations in the garden and them i'm ready  :D

Took delivery of feeder, waterer, layers pellets, mixed corn and Oester Grit ( thought it was spealt Oyster ! )

Anything else I need urgentley or am i ready to go ? I know some of you are going to say Camera, dont worry, I'll post as soon as humanly possible.

Is it true that if you    Pee aroung the garden boundary it puts foxes off entering the garden ? If so, my kids cant wait    Dirty *

So I heard so my husband obliges (not directly he uses a mik bottle).  Wouldn't want to offend the neighbours.  It has be be male urine though!

it is true about the pee but my old man won't oblige so I got a Foxwatch instead  :D

That oyster shell brand is Oestra and you get that and grit and mix it together. Well I do  :D

You need rough (unfettered) apple cider vinegar which gets added to their water to ward off internal parasites. It's as cheap as chips from pet shops or your chook supplier. The posh stuff from the supermarket is not the same

They do drink lots of water so keep it refreshed  :!:

Congratulations by the way   :D

:D  :D  :D Well they've arrived home safe and sound.. 2 Isa Browns and 2 Speckledys as I said earlier. The chap said it would be best if they stayed in the house hen house until tomorrow....But we couldnt wait that long  :o  :o Opened the pop hole and 3 emerged nigh on straight away and headed straight for the pellets  :D  My parents dog and a quick run around and had a sniff and didnt seem too bothered, neither the girls in fact ! Now tucked up safe and sound until morning, will post pics soon, promise..

They look absolutley spotless, no marks on them and they just look so healthy ( even if i dont know what a healthy chook looks like ), glossy feathers, bright eyes etc. Spare time ?? I dont have much of that anyway.. Just ordered some Eglu Netting so I can give them their own space when we're home.  :D  Looking forward to the 1st eggs now
