Oh how awful  :pale:

did the 'fox' break the locks to get to them or could it have been something far larger?

Make sure you report it to the police - it sounds unlikely but I've heard of a few cases where the culprit has been aprehended.

Sorry for your loss  :(

What ever it was got in through the netting on the main run we have an eglu inside the big run and we tend to leave the eglu run open this time of year so the hens can take full advantage of the light mornings

What a dreadful thing to greet you first thing in the morning.
Foxes are beautiful animals but they do such evil to our chooks.

So sorry.

How awful, I can't begin to imagine how upsetting that must have been, I thought the Eglu run's were supposed to be fox proof because of the wire skirt.

My thoughts are with with

So sorry how terrible for you!

Foxes are opportunists and he/she will be back -check your security before new chooks. Loads of help here on how to keep foxes out.

How awful for you  :(

Bl**dy foxes...it wouldnt be as bad if they actually killed one, then took it away to eat instead of the panic killing that they always seem to do.

:( So sorry to hear about the loss of your chooks.
I really do know how you feel because a neighbours terriers dug a tunnel under fences and killed my 2 lovely hens.
I was devastated.
I have got 2 more now as I am sure you will.
Once you have them in your garden/allotment it's hard to imagine not having them.

I'm so sorry as well...waking up to finding what's been left by Mr. Fox is always on the back of my mind when I fall asleep. No matter how many times I check that the chickens are safe before I go to bed, I'm always afraid the fox will come that particular night.

I'm so sorry it happened to you...
