After having spent years having mice dig most of my peas up I decided to make some mesh covers this year as I can't be bothered sowing in pots,gutters etc and it has worked perfectly.

I just made some 6in wide troughs with 6in sides and pushed these over the sown peas and the peas haven't been touched and have just grown through the mesh.

Success !!!

And when did you steal my cat?!!  She is the spit of one of mine!!  If it was the fat one I'd know where he is getting his second dinners from!!

Mine is a good mouser too, pity she brings them into the house to die of fright!

Daisy just turned up on our doorstep back in Feb (I think) and slept there outside for a week until we broke and decided to adopt her.

She may look like a real 'mouser' but she runs a mile at the first sign of anything moving in the garden bless her!!

Brilliant !  What size mesh do you need to stop the mice getting through ?

It was 10mm mesh bought from Wilkos for very little money...Good old Wilkos !!.

So 10mm seems to be small enough to keep the mice out but big enough to let the plants grow through it..
