Does anybody living near Forest of Dean/Monmouthshire borders have any live eggs I can collect to put under a broody? :)  :)

I found a lady locally and I'm off to collect 7 eggs to put under Winnie this evening. I've spent most of the day making her a separate house out of old kitchen cupboard doors, I didn't have to buy anything cos I used cable ties instead of hinges. It's my first time having a broody and I'm excited :D  :D

Winnie is all tucked up with her eggs, she spent ages rearranging them, I obviously didn't put them in the nest box to her satisfaction. :)

hatching your own is amazing! nothing can beat the sheer wonder of an empty egg shell and a yellow ball of fluff!
I am recreating a very old strain of salmon faverolles and they will hatch in 2 weeks! so excited!!!

I have put 4 Gold laced Barnevelders eggs, 1 Cuckoo Maran and 2 Hybrid eggs under Winnie, and now the waiting begins.  :)

Oh NO!!!!! While I was out this morning Winnie moved back into the empty nestbox and sat on nothing until I transfered her back to the broody box. I've now put a run onto the broody box so she can get out for grass, water and corn and a dustbath but she can't get back to the main house. She was off the eggs for up to 3 hours after only being on them for 13 hours. Have I blown it already? :(  :(
