Hi,

We've decided to keep one of our cockerals, Beau, as he is sooo pretty. He's young and only just started to crow and try himself with the hens - he is a lot smaller, will that be a problem?

He has been living with all his brothers and sisters but in the next two weeks his less attractive brothers are going and I shall move the three sisters in with my other three older hens.  They have a smallish henhouse that they use for sleeping and full use of a large walled garden.

Do I put him in with the hens?  I've popped him in for the last two days and there doesn't seem to be a problem but i wasn't sure if that was the right thing.

Can you also tell me what problems i might encounter?

Hi Michelle, i had a Bantam cockerel that free ranged with all my others, he was very naughty with the big girls, tearing combs trying to tread :blink: He now has a large run with girls his own size and is lovely.
    I do have another as well now free ranging so i'm just seeing how it goes up till now no problem.
   Thats all you can do , wait and see, good luck
