Fence your plot and put large stones around the wire/fence.  It worked for me - a wire/fence alone was not enough as he dug underneath.  Once you put stones at the base of the wire/fence they rapidly lose interest!

is he actually doing any harm?   :D   I got them in my shed, after the borlotti beans which were drying in there. I removed the borlotti beans and they moved on  :D

A single field mouse won't do you much harm.

I had trouble with 'em digging my peas up so I set some traps.

I got 20 in 2 weeks and gave up feeling guilty killing 'em.

If you've seen one then you'll have a lot more.

If it's (and it's extended family) are not doing any harm then just let it be.

If you shift him then there'll be another million waiting to take his place. :D

I saw a rat two days after I got the keys to my allotment.  I went into terror mode and researched ways of exterminating.  But the chaps around my plot just say rats are shy creatures who contribute their bit to the place and that I needed to change my attitude to rats.

So I try to think more of Ratty from Wind in the Willows rather than 'Rats' by Stephen King whenever I see the critter now.  Works a treat!

Field mice I can live with but R--s I cannot! Have you not heard of Weels desease? The spelling is definately wrong but r-- pee can kill you! Even if it doesn't if you get the desease you could end up having dyalesis every week. Don't listen to the old blokes borrow a jack russel or griffen from someone or get a trap down. Its you or them! Yuk
I know less today than I did yesterday, and I knew nothing then!

I've never seen one at my plot but I reckon they MUST be there ... Everywhere's bound to have them. Some maybe more than others.
Just make sure any veg is washed well before eating?
