Who IS that new lass who was planting cacti ?

She says "Really Really" in every single sentence she speaks.

I found it really really irritating.

I'm afraid I'm cynical about the TV people. In my small experience an arrogant bunch with little relationship to reality.

Not restricted to gardening presenters unfortunately.

Met one from time team last year, i am amazed he could see where he was going, with his head being where it was.

Really :)

Why does Joe Swift look about ready to cry? Perhaps someone should tell him, allotments are fun.

What tickled me was they had this pack of dried goji berries, which nobody seemed to actually like although he knew interesting facts about them.

I'm all in favour of trying new things but why grow something you don't like  :?

Him turning up with triangles and an offer of a competition just didn't ring true to me, the whole thing felt fake.

Must say that I'm not a fan of Carol Klein but she seemed less gushing and more listenable to last night.  Some folks on the BBC forum think her oooohs are a form of tourettes syndrome.

The show was better and once again I actually learned something relevant to me.  Plus the fact that Goji berries are yuk.

Poor Ms Klein - the only media training she had was "When Harry met Sally"

awww I LOVE carol, she is so enthusiastic, she makes me want to run out in the garden and check my compost and her house and garden is beautiful
 :D   :D
I was ok with joe as well - up to a point, but his embarrassed face when he doing his lotty makes me cringe, I can see him thinking OMG everyone gonna be posting about this!!!

I don't actually have much sympathy with them. If you appear on TV then you open yourself up to criticism.

The highlight of the programme for me was the Geof Hamilton clip. He was a man I'd have loved to have met. I've a lot of time for Monty as well - his work with druggies etc sets him apart in my eyes.

I think Carol is brilliant. She is so enthusiastic. She would find something positive to say if a typhoon hit your garden. Apparently Monty is in trouble with some sections of the gardening hierarchy with his comments about "foreign "plants. He was saying in a nutshell that people ought to ditch the non native plants and plant more indigenous species. More power to his elbow. Personally I dont have anything in my garden that isnt of benefit to some section of wildlife and I hate Rhododendrons and azalias and magnolias.
Oh for those halcyon days of England long ago
