There was a woman planting what she called the 3 sisters' bed.
It was sweetcorn, runner beans and squash.
I like thet idea. Has anyone tried it?
Could courgettes replace squash, or even pumpkin?
Do not underestimate the therapeutic values of weeding!
1 dog, 2 children, 3 good reasons not to spread poison!

courgettes no  but pumkins yes unless the pumkin gets huge and is restricted by the corn
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes

Ah Sarah Raven, she did not disappoint planting seeds in a green velveteen coat and then the 3 sisters bed with practical laced wellies frayed linen skirt and again the green velvet coat elegantly draped across the soil behind her.She also wore a scarf but despite valiant efforts failed to plant the ends with any permanance.Misters Don and Swift let the side down dressed in rolled up shirt sleeves as if it was a warm day.

That was unkind Shaun.Sarah has her own unique dress sense and probably has frilly quilts and wears high buttoned cotten lawn nighties in bed.

Glad I missed it now all those funny clothes and that carol woman really gets on my nerves, let alone that bl@@dy SR. I don't watch it usually these days, Much preferred  Geoff H, or Alan Titchmarsh.

I agree. I watched her 'grow your own veg' programme with high hopes, but 90% seemed to consist of close ups of her eating veg and saying how wonderful it tasted.  I've learnt more on these forums in a few weeks than on that programme.

What happened to Dan Pearson, I used to like him?

I hate the programme because people watch it, get an allotment, stir it around a bit, then sit at home reading the magazine while their weeds grow.

There's too much of a difference between the Real World and BBC Gardeners World.
