Hello,

Although chitting in life is unavoidable ( ) is chitting oir spuds really necessary?

I ask as I don't think I have time to chit mine as time is going fast!
Do I still have time to chit them, and when is it best to plant them?

They will chit themselves anyway, when it's time for them to grow, chitting them as such is a forcing gardening activity, completely unnecessary for growth. Only done with earlies to bring them on earlier.

Can do without absolutely.  8)

Only put mine to chit on Tuesday (owing to the fact that T&M have only just delivered them  ). I won't be planting out until mid April so they have plenty of time to chit.
