Thinking about the future.
« on: July 09, 2020, 12:57 »
It's a ways off I know, but my polyhouse  raised bed of 6 cherry and 2 regular tomato plants are going great, absolutely chock with fruit, as are the 2 cucumber plants. Anyway it's got me thinking about next year and realizing that my raised bed is the only place that I could ever have for tomato. So my question to anyone who can put me right: is it ok to dig out the old plants when the time comes, maybe add some manure, then have a go with a bit of confidence again next year. I am a total beginner, so I have to learn from the likes of y'all good folks.

Yes, that should be ok, it’s what most of us do who grow in greenhouses. I try to replace some of the soil every few years, but generally just add compost.

Same, I just add a good amount of compost each year and get good results.
