Dobies lucky dip plants

I'm going to order one of these packs because I'm intrigued as to what might turn up, plus it seems like a reasonable deal. I hope that buying in a few plug plants might help me start the season as it's been too cold to sow much here this year.
Has anyone bought this pack before? What sort of selection did you get?

Well Jak, I've never had them or even heard of them but for 20 quid it doesn't seem a bad deal to me. I'd be interested to know exactly what you get for your money.

possibly the vaguest sell i've seen.

seems a little steep to me considering you would prob get a large amount of one crop (as they say they send things that are at their peak at time of sale). i also see radish on the pic, if you get a quarter of the order in radish thats some serious money for a patch of radish that is worth less than 25p in seed, or if you just get half a dozen radish plants then you'll have enough for one salad.

you shouldn't be too late to start most things from seed now. maybe just buy peppers/ chillies, as it prob a little late than ideal for them now.

I think the picture is just a generic 'here be veg' picture.  Its easy to see what you might get by looking through their veg plant pages.  There is still a huge selection offered, so there shouldn't be any reason to get a huge amount of a single crop.

I'd be interested to hear what you get as well JaK  :)

under extra value, yopu may get some usual toms, chilli, few sweet corn, peas, beans, corgette and squash etc.

rest cabbage, caulis and other brassicas, leeks, spring onion,spinach/swiss chard, lettuce, beetroot, peas, radish and other root veg ..

so I guess most of the basics are included

I'd be worried you would get all the stuff the garden centres sell. Strips of carrots or parsnips, you have to laugh.....

They don't have parsnip, carrot or radish plants for sale on the veg plant pages of the site, so I don't think you would get any of these  :)

Most years I have thought about this as a 'top up' as I have limited indoor and blowaway greenhouse space - but I have never gone through with it. Would love to hear what you get!
