[Mark's Sussex Allotment]

I've just had these seeds delivered from "sowseeds" and they have this turquoise coating on about 50% of them.

I don't know if its mould or some sort of germination aid?

It could be an anti-fungal dressing but your picture is not really good enough to tell.

Looks like mould to me,
 never seen anti-fungal treated beetroot seed and if it was treated you would expect it all to be the same colour.

Can you send them the photo and ask for a replacement packet ?

Is germination a complete no hoper, if it is mould?

You could see if it washes off and put a few on damp paper to see if they germinate.

Don't wash them all, only the ones you try to germinate.
