Cut some leeks and now planning on makng some nice soup

Why is your wheel barrow so clean  :blink: I'd love mine like that but hubby keeps using it.

Dug over 3 beds today (with a lil' help from the boyf ).
Planted lots of lettuces around one bed.
Built and nearly finished my 'Munty bean frame' - ran out of bindy-twine
Mulched and fed my plum tree (2nd year now) - covered in little buds just waiting to turn into fruits!!
Got a bit sunburned on my shoulders!!
Watered everything well as we've had no proper rain since the beginning of the week. 

All in all - a very good day! :happy:

[Plot 6B]

Planted out Cabbage (Savoy) and moved the Runner Beans to Harden Off.

just a quick trip, to get some weeding done, weeded a few more strawberries out for home, then off to the tip to dump the excess garden waste (all my compost bins are approaching full) and this was from the front garden mostly. plus the old glass to the bottle bank.

More weeding, weeding, weeding. Planted out approx 80 leeks and sown beetroot seeds.

Planted out courgettes, first two sowings of minipop sweetcorn and radishes from modules (100% germination this way!).

Fingers crossed for the weather.

Yesterday:  Sorted out the back garden and planted 25 strawberry runners into their new homes in tubs.  Took longer than it sounds and I am still aching.

Today:  Up to the plot and have finally got something in there - 30 potato tubers.  Better late than never.

I will now sow some seeds, some squash, courgettes and pumpkins methinks.  I need the pumpkins sown for the pumpkin competition, I don't want to be disqualified.

Took on a new plot that's only 2 minutes walk from house, I hope the other allotment guys aren't too annoyed that ill be leaving (again) but at least the plots in good shape.

Dug over 6, yes 6 beds on the new plot ready for frantic sowing tomorrow as its so late. Met lots of the other tenants and discovered they have a cider shed also dug over the little bed I found, think I'll use it for flowers.

Drank a cider, sat in the sun for a bit, bed early ready for long day tomorrow.

Made the most of two days of sunshine. Filled in the gaps in the parsnip rows; planted more carrots and spring onions; planted out the celery (self blanching - allegedly) and my experiment - celtuce. Yesterday watered everything but today I am trusting the weather forecast which says wet and windy and have only watered the seeds!

Sorted dads corner so he now has some serious kicker boards to stop the council strimming his crops.

Next just need to level that corner and put in a serious bed of raspberries along the edge. Can't waste them.

Carried home all the buckets of weed off dads plot ready to go to the tip.
Tempted to water tonight because the ground feels dry even down a finger depth, are we due rain tomorrow.

I often escape up the hill then as it's quiet and no nosey old * telling me I am doing it wrong. The only funny bit is we have some plot holders who like to clock you on and off so they never think we go. Apparently it's the garden gnomes that do all the work.

Anyway, what did I do today? Rescued 1/2 the onions (lost my patience after 1/2), planted and netted 100 strawberry plants, dug over one whole area. Watered all the seedlings in the house and potting shed. Arrived at the allotment at about 10.30am, popped back to the house a couple of times and left at 7pm.
