Hubby saw a glimpse of sun and off he went, hes building another compost bin, oh no silly me its a manure storage centre.  ::) will only be the 6 th compost bin on the three plots.

Found pallets in a skip so it was a sure thing to become todays job.
I may go back later to tackle any weeds left from the lovely weed growing weather we are having.

Went this morning for a couple of hours as we went to "that Swedish shop" this afternoon. Weeded, earthed up the potatoes, planted radishes(again) and decided my broken tomato had had it! And sheltered from the showers in the greenhouse!

Took some pallets down the plot for making a compost bin. Would have loved to have done some digging but no time today.
Breaking new ground.............literally!

Met up with the lovely forum member mum2mj and she kindly gave me her bokashi bins and sweetcorn, and then made me take some (much needed) canes, strawbs and a rasp.  What a lovely lady.  Dropped stuff off at lottie during a shower only to spot a black slug munching on seedlings!  O the cheek, and in broad daylight too.  He took the trowel shuttle across the back fence into the alley  :tongue2:

....and then..and then...is it?  can it be? on closer inspection- my first parsnip showing !!!! at blooming last.  (Bet there had been more but missed them due to Mr sluggypants).  Can't weed that area now just. in. case.

Isn't it funny how they learn to fly so quickly !!

Went back this evening ........ babysitting cancelled because the little one was throwing up :(  Planted  4 pumpkins and 3 courgettes after digging the beds for them.  A good productive day today :D  :D

Installed the "mystery squash" (see other thread) on the compost heap as the fruit had got too heavy for the stalk and needed space to sprawl.

Noticed that the wind was blowing from the south and all my wind protection is east/west.  We hardly ever get south winds. :(

Weeded, covered the Brussels with netting watered tomatoes, aubergine, cucumbers, marrow and pumpkin in the greenhouse.
Okra growing very slowly because the weather not been warm enough.

I am way behind here, yesterday I finished my 2nd raised bed so planted purple sprouting broccoli plugs that I was kindly given, sorted through seeds and have set aside the seeds for today's planting.
Did notice something has munched on my pumpkin stems but they are still looking quite happy.

Extended the asparagus bed and dug ready to plant some crowns tomorrow
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Planted out all my leeks. First year and most were pencil thickness so was really pleased - thanks DD for your car litter tray tip! I then weeded the onions. I thinned my parsnips as it seems I had planted them too closely together (4 inches). It seemed wrong pulling out plants that were looking like mini parsnips (and even smelt like snips) but I am trusting people's advice! The seeds I sowed direct are also popping up.

Finally I went to thin the swede and noticed the slugs have been helping me with that despite organic pellets etc so it is a good job I sowed them thickly! Put more pellets down

Weeded for about 4 hours - where are the swine coming from!!! Mild weather helps I bet. Still my compost bin is filling nicely with the collected weeds. Placed my last two toms and last chilli in potato sacks folded in half depth wise. Checked on swedes, leeks and last parsnip seeds - why can't they grow like weeds :(. Still radishes and spring onions doing great so it's probably not me.

Made a new scaffold board boarder for the large bed (it had been getting on my nerves for a while but didnt have the inclination or the time to sort it).

Planted late cabbage and something else that I dont have a clue what it was called (I just bought them from the allotment association shop) and sewed carrot seeds.
Dug the footings for the chicken coop and run and collected bricks for the lower part of the run.

Snapped the hoe handle weeding!!!!
And generally socialised with the neighbours
