Hello all,

I've had my hens about 40 weeks now so going on 10 months, they are all laying and look reasonably healthy considering the weather and climate! Just a question I bought them, around 16-18 weeks not sure if they had been wormed? When is it advisable to worm them? As I want to keep the hens healthy and want healthy egg production? I there a good or bad time of year?

if you aren't sure when or if they have been wormed then do it now - use flubenvet as this kills all types of worms that chickens can get.

How often do you have to worm them and can you tell if they need worming?

Not sure think its every 6 months to a year.

usually it is advised to worm them between 2 and 4 times a year. If your birds free range then ideally 3 or 4 times a year as they can be prone to getting worms from wild bird pooh, likewise hens in a fixed uncovered run.
