Needless to say I filled my boot!

Only one of them? Wasn't it a bit squelchy when you walked?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Have you rung round some stables??
I did this and found most are happy for you to help yourself if you bring your own bags and fork and are willing to do it all yourself.

Chicken manure grows bigger veg than either horse or cow manure (except sheep manure for giant pumpkins).

nShame you don't live nearer, could take you to the best managed muck heap you have ever seen.  By the way, any more news on the tunnel? Cheers, Jan :)

Horse muck.........jjust what i've been doing today, carting it from a pasture, where its all been heaped up, pure muck, no straw,.........the lady who pastures the horses, is only to glad to let me help myself, as there is an issue, if the muck is left on the pasture, then it gets into the water course

I get 8 barrowloads a time in my litlle trailer

Baz.........
Mostly organic...

Glad you found some - as a horse owner I'm surprised at the lack of avalability - we do get ours taken away by a farmer but there are lots of yards around whod be happy to get rid of it..as we struggle to give it away normally!

Just in case you need a fallback - the college of west anglia has an equestrian yard at Milton - I don't know if that's near you - but if you rang them they might be willing to part with some of their muck heap - but if not they are bound to be able put up a notice or locate someone with a yard near you who could help.

For anyone else struggling to find horse poo - you could try putting an ad in your local ad-trader paper/online [they are free] - they have BIG horsey sections and someones bound to respond with a muck heap near you.

Private yards are normally the best bet - big comercial yards will usually have a regular arrangement collector and can be too busy to help - but small private owners are usually desperate to get rid of it.
